This project centres on a biogas plant that has been operating in its expanded form since November 2024. The expansion added a new production unit for the manufacture of Bio-LNG from biogenic residues as well as for the capture and liquefaction of biogenic CO₂.
The production of Bio-LNG from biogenic residues yields a renewable fuel that substitutes fossil LNG, particularly in the transport and logistics sectors. The biogenic CO₂ generated during production is captured and permanently sequestered rather than released into the atmosphere, and subsequently made available as high-grade liquid CO₂ for industrial applications.
The expansion significantly increases the plant's overall energy utilisation rate and generates additional value through the efficient use of existing resources. Supported by a broad feedstock base and long-term secured supply relationships, the project contributes to a reliable regional energy supply and reinforces energy security through renewable energy carriers.

The biogenic liquid CO₂ produced as a by-product of gas manufacturing is supplied directly to the food and industrial sectors as a high-value raw material, opening an additional revenue stream for the plant. At the same time, the project makes a meaningful contribution to the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries and supports the transition towards a climate-friendly energy and circular economy.
By investing in this infrastructure project, a lasting contribution is made to the regional energy infrastructure, one that combines the ecological benefits of CO₂ sequestration and resource efficiency with economic value creation and long-term energy security.
