In Gießen-Wieseck, a forward-thinking expansion of the Grundschule am Teichweg is being developed on a 3,900-square-meter site, creating much-needed space for modern learning. The project incorporates innovative architectural and spatial concepts designed to support a contemporary educational experience. In addition to four classrooms with outdoor terraces, this asset will also include a cafeteria, a library, and dedicated spaces for art, music, and administration.
The single-level modular timber construction is being built to KfW-40 efficiency house standards, ensuring both high energy performance and short construction periods. Photovoltaic systems, air-to-water heat pumps, and LED lighting contribute to the project's ambitious climate goals.
The new facility directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Quality Education and provides targeted preparatory courses to help integrate recently immigrated students into the school system.
